What? RBI is taking back all the Rs 2000; here’s the reality
A shocking message has surfaced on social media platforms which claimed that Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is taking back all the two-thousand rupee's notes. Also, the message claimed that RBI will also impose some limitations on cash transactions that the exchange limit is only fifty thousand in ten days.
The message also claimed that these changes will take place due to the alleged introduction of a new Rs 1000 banknote on January 1, 2020, according to the message.

“Reserve Bank taking back all the Rs.2000/- notes. You can only exchange Rs.50,000/- in 10 days. So, kindly start changing your 2000/- notes immediately. After 10th October 2019, you cannot change your Rs.2000 notes,” the viral message reads.

Know reality?
This is a hoax. Yes, you read right, as per the reports of the Quint, the central bank has no plan to ban Rs 2000.
The official website of RBI also checked where no such circular and notification was issued.
Moreover, RBI official also confirmed to The Quint, “There's no notification from our side. All communications from the RBI appear on our website. Please don't believe in rumors," Yogesh Dayal, CGM, Department of Communication, RBI said.
