VIDEO: Afghanistan bowler did something hilarious to Eoin Morgan even ICC can't stop laughing
World Cup match between England and Afghanistan saw many record-breaking moments and the best one was skipper Eoin Morgan’s 17 sixes in an innings. Morgan broke the record of Rohit Sharma, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle’s 16 sixes in an innings to register the most number of sixes by a player in an ODI match.
The match also saw some light-hearted moment when Afghanistan skipper Gulbadin Naib was bowling the 32nd over. Gulbadin bowled the first ball of the over to Morgan and the England skipper missed it. Morgan tried cutting it away, cramped, chopped onto the boot, the bowler tries pulling Morgan back (all in good spirit), and there's a flick onto the stumps at the striker's end. No appeal from Afghanistan.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) took to its official Twitter handle to share the video and captioned it, “Physically taking the bat out of Eoin Morgan hands might be the only way to stop him today!”
Morgan went on to score the fastest century of World Cup 2019 off just 57 balls and finished his innings at 148 runs before he was dismissed by Naib. England put up the highest total of World Cup 2019 with 397 runs on board in 50 overs.
