#MeToo: Vinod Dua’s daughter Mallika Dua reacted to the sexual misconduct allegations against her father; here’s what she has to say
After veteran journalist Vinod Dua was accused of sexual misconduct, her daughter Mallika Dua, who was also targeted over the allegation leveled against her father, reacted to the accusation. However, Vindo Dua is yet to react to the allegations made against him.
Issuing a statement, Mallika said that it is unacceptable if her father is guilty of what has been said about him. And she said it is unacceptable, painful and traumatic.
“To Nishtha Jain, IF at all my father is truly guilty of what you described; it is unacceptable, traumatic and painful. I am in solidarity with movement and in support of the vices but your dragging my name into this was in terrible taste”.
She further said “This isn't my battle to fight. It isn't my responsibility, shame or burden. I will deal with this my way on my time”.
Filmmaker Nishtha Jain accused Vinod Dua of sexual misconduct saying that he stalked her. Jain recalled that how Vindo Dua lashed out at Akshay Kumar for his sexist remarks on her daughter Mallika.
“When I read about his outrage against Akshay Kumar's sexist words to his daughter Malika Dua, I said to myself he's obviously forgotten that he was no less sexist, no less misogynist, no less creepy a sexual harasser, potential rapist. If he did to me, I'm sure he would have done it to other women. Today, he does programmes explaining (to) the world what constitutes sexual harassment. He should stop everything and look into his own shady past”, Jain wrote.
However, Jain apologized for dragging Mallika in her father case. Jain said “if she has inadvertently shamed her". "Sorry, if I have inadvertently shamed Mallika Dua. I had no such intention. Thanks for friends and supporters for pointing this out. She's in no way responsible for her father's acts. However, I do hope she'll be able to believe me, empathize with me as well as the other women he has harassed”.
