The 70-year-old man sustained an injury on his left hand while Gade’s right hand got injured. Both were rushed to a government hospital and have given an anti-rabies vaccination course.
Later, the hyena was found dead after it being hit by a vehicle.
According to the Indian Express, Deputy Conservator of Forest (Junnar division) told that they have traced the person who shot the incident. The man was from a group of tourists who had visited a temple in the area. Tourists have seen the hyena a few minutes before the attack and they have also told the elderly man not to go in the direction. However, he didn’t listen to them and told them that hyenas were common in the area and continued walking in the same direction.
One of the tourists started recording a video as he thought anything could happen. The forest department has also initiated the process of giving compensation to the two injured men in the attack.
