Australia’s Steve Smith has been in top form in the ongoing tour of Pakistan. After playing knocks of 78 and 72 in the first and second Test in Rawalpindi and Karachi, respectively, the right handed bastman logged yet another 50-plus score in the first innings of the ongoing third and final Test in Lahore.
Despite not being able to reach triple figures so far in the tour, Steve Smith scripted a massive milestone with his knock of 59 in the 1st innings. Smith, who took his total of runs to 7,993, went past former Sri Lanka skipper Kumar Sangakkara, who had scored 7,913 runs in 150 Test innings.
In the ongoing third Test, Australia were reduced to 17/2 after choosing to bat first.
Steve Smith led Aussie come back, alongside Usman Khawaja, as the pair added 138 runs for the third wicket.
Following their dismissals, Pakistan looked to have taken control of the match before Alex Carey and Cameron Green added another 135 to guide Australia past the 300-run mark total.
Australia were eventually bowled out for a total of 391.
In response, Australian skipper Pat Cummins struck early into the Pakistan's innings, dismissing Imam-ul-Haq on a score of just 11 runs.
