Royal Challengers Bangalore’s skipper Virat Kohli’s biggest nightmare in the Indian Premier League is Rajasthan Royals’ Shreyas Gopal. Shreyas and Virat met two times in this year’s IPL and the leg-spinner came out victorious in both the meetings by dismissing world’s best batsman.
Gopal dismissed Virat Kohli in both home and away game that they played against each other. Last night Gopal came on top of Virat by dismissing him in a rain torn match. Virat was looking good as he scored 25 off 7 balls before he gave a catch to Liam Livingstone off Gopal’s ball.
After rain hit Bengaluru, the match was reduced to a five over spectacle. Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to bowl first. Kohli and company scored 62-7 off five overs, while Shreyas Gopal took hat-trick from the one over he bowled.
In the second innings, Sanju Samson gave Rajasthan a good start before being dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal for 28 off 13 balls. His partner at the non-striker’s end scored 11 off 7 balls before the rain abandoned the match again. The match ended with no result as both the teams were awarded one point each.
Royal Challengers Bangalore are now officially out of the tournament as they have 9 points from the 13 matches they have played so far. Rajasthan Royals have moved to number five on the points table as they have 11 points from 13 matches. Rajasthan still have a chance to qualify for the play-offs.
