Andhra Pradesh: Pastor booked for allegedly sexually assaulting 24-year-old woman in Machilipatnam

A case has been filed against a pastor for allegedly sexually assaulting a 24-year-old woman in Andhra Pradesh’s Machilipatnam on Wednesday.

The crime was revealed on Tuesday after the victim registered a complaint against the pastor.

In the complaint, she stated that she was raped by the priest Joel Rachel, the pastor also threatened to release the girls morphed images taken by him.

The accused had been paying a visit to the women’s house for prayers for the last few weeks and had take some photos using his mobile phone.

Later the threatened to morph them.

Last Sunday, in the time of lockdown, the pastor visited her again and raped her while her family members were not there, the complaint said.

On the basis of the complaint, a case was lodged under Indian Penal Code section 376.

The victim was admitted to District Government Hospital in Machilipatnam foor medical examination while the accused has been on the run, they said.
