This British couple booked the entire train from Coimbatore to Ooty for honeymoon trip; they paid this whopping amount for the service

Taking the honeymoon trip to the new level, a British young couple booked the entire train to reach their honeymoon place Nilgiri hills. The special train booked was for one-way ride from Coimbatore (Mettupalayam) to Ooty (Udhagamandalam).

30-year-old Graham William Lynn and his 27-year-old wife Silviya Plasic, who came to India for their honeymoon after getting married two weeks ago, paid about Rs 3 lakh for the special train. Southern Railway provided the service to the young couple.

Talking about their feeling of booking the entire train for the honeymoon trip, Lynn said “While planning our honeymoon, we decided to charter the iconic steam train to the Nilgiris. We thought it would be romantic to have the entire train to ourselves”.

According to the sources, the train was booked through the website of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation website. It is the first time the Railway Board agreed to provide the entire train in order to boost hill tourism in the area. The train was approved allowing Salem division to run the train which has a seating capacity of 120 on the Nilgiri Mountain railway section.

According to the PTI, the couple received a warm reception from Mettupalayam and Coonoor station managers when they arrived at the station on Friday since they were the first who got this service. The train departed from Mettupalayam at 9.10 am and arrived at Ooty around 2.40 PM.
