All 270 passengers of a Dubai bound flight from Kochi was asked to deplane shortly before takeoff after a UK national among them tested positive for coronavirus, officials stated.
The passenger, belonged to a group of 19 holidaying in the hill resort town Munnar in Kerala and was under watch, a Cochin International Airport Limited spokesperson stated.
He joined the group to reach the Kochi airport without notifying authorities in Munnar, the spokesperson said.
When the test results arrived, the officials came to know that he was at the Kochi airport and travelling by an Emirates airlines. At first, it was dicided to offload all 19 passengers of his group, he stated.
"Now, it is decided to offload the remaining 270 pax also and send them to hospital for further investigation", the spokesperson said.
