Hyderabad: 16-year-old girl raped by 11, including cousin for 4 years; act recorded, blackmailed with video

In another heinous sexual assault case, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly brutally raped by 11 people, including her cousin and his friends in Hyderabad's Murali Nagar. This sexual assault continued for four years. According to the victim, her cousin gave her a soft drink spiked with sedatives and subsequently raping her in 2015. The cousin has been identified as Raju, who is the victim’s cousin.

After raping her, Raju allegedly recorded the assault on his cellphone and shared it with others. All of them then threatened her to continue sexually exploiting her, the girl told the police.

The victim’s brother said, no one in the family noticed anything wrong during this period. "My sister is traumatised, but wants to continue her studies," said the girl's brother.

The 16-year-old minor, a Class 12 student, approached a Bharosa centre in Hyderabad last month, after which the matter came to light.
Three of the accused named by the girl have been arrested, an officer said.

One of the accused, however, has been named a witness by the police, the family said.

"How can they turn an accused into a witness. A friend of another accused has also been made a $witness. What if they change the story in court? We want all the guilty to be punished immediately," a cousin of the girl said.
