The body of a 35-year-old lawyer was found from the Ganga river near Hasvala village in the district four days after he went missing, with the police suspecting that he committed suicide by jumping into the water.
Miranpur Police Station in-charge Pankaj Tyagi said Mohit Sharma had been missing since July 25 and a team of divers found his body from the river on Sunday.
"We suspect that he committed suicide by jumping into the river. His motorbike was
found near the Ganga barrage on July 25," the SHO said.
He said the body has been sent for postmortem and a probe is underway.
