On its 100th glorious day, here are few interesting facts about the family blockbuster:
1) The story of Jacobinte Swargarajyam is inspired by the life of a Dubai-based NRI businessman named Jacob Zachariah.
2) Jacobinte Swargarajyam marks a hat-trick of success for Vineeth Sreenivasan - Nivin Pauly combination after Malaarvadi Arts Club and Thattathin Marayathu.
3) Jacobinte Swargarajyam was the debut production outing of Noble Babu Thomas under the banner Big Bang Entertainments and the maker has hit the jackpot as his family entertainer went on to become the highest grosser of the year. The film has also entered into the all-time top 10 Malayalam grosser's list.
4) Jacobinte Swargarajyam is Nivin Pauly's fourth film to cross the Rs 20 crore mark at the Kerala Box Office after Bangalore Days, Oru Vadakkan Selfie, and Premam, highest by any Malayalam actor. The actor's first release of the year, Action Hero Biju was also a huge box office success.
5) Jacobinte Swargarajyam marked the straight fourth collaboration of Vineeth Sreenivasan and music composer Shaan Rahman after Malaarvadi Arts Club, Thattathin Marayathu and Thira.
6) Jacobinte Swargarajyam marked the debut of a number of fresh faces - including Ashwin Kkumar, Reba John, Aima and Stacen. The antagonist's character portrayed by Ashwin Kkumar was initially offered to super hit Tamil director Gautham Menon. But the director opted out from the film due to the Chennai floods at the time. However, Ashwin Kkumar made a terrific replacement as the actor's performance has impressed the audience big time.
7) Jacobinte Swargarajyam also saw the actor-turned-casting director Dinesh Prabhakar in a strong role. The talented actor had earlier collaborated with Vineeth Sreenivasan for the casting of Shobana starrer Thira. He has also bagged the casting department of Bash Mohammed's upcoming film after the critically-acclaimed hit Lukka Chuppi.
8) Jacobinte Swargarajyam also marked Aju Varghese's debut as assistant director. The comic star, who also did a cameo in the film has teamed up with Dhananjay and Ganesh as associates to Vineeth Sreenivasan.
9) Jacobinte Swargarajyam is popular subtitler Vivek Ranjit's third film to do 100 days at the Box Office after Charlie and Action Hero Biju. Interestingly, all three films subtitled by him turned out to be hits in centres out of Kerala as well.
10) Upon it's release, Jacobinte Swargarajyam had faced stiff competition from Dileep's King Liar, Ilyathalapathy Vijay's Theri and the Hollywood fantasy adventure The Jungle Book. But with its strong family content and terrific word-of-mouth, Jacobinte Swargarajyam overpowered all films at the Box Office. The film is still running in more than 23 cinemas across Kerala.
