Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's Pulimurugan has successfully completed it's 50 day theatrical run at the Kerala Box Office.
The Vysakh directorial action-thriller was released on 7 October, 2016 on the auspicious occasion of Dusshera. On its opening day itself, Pulimurugan has emerged the biggest Malayalam opener at the Kerala Box Office. In fact, the movie went on to collect a massive Rs. 25 crore on its opening week to become the first ever film to do so at the Kerala Box Office.
Within 17-day theatrical run, Pulimurugan has shattered the Rs. 44 crore record set by his 2013 blockbuster Drishyam to become the all-time blockbuster of Malayalam film industry. And by the end of it's one-month theatrical release, Pulimurugan creates history to emerge the first Rs . 100 crore Malayalam grosser worldwide.
Produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam, Pulimurugan also starred Telugu actor Jagapati Babu, Bengali actress Kamalini Mukherjee, Namitha, Lal, Bala and Vinu Mohan. Apart from Mohanlal's acting, the film has been praised for Vysakh's direction and Peter Hein's stunt choreography as well.
The film, which is still running to packed houses has so far minted Rs. 125 crore at the Box Office worldwide. Pulimurugan also set an unique record to become the first film to complete 50-day theatrical run in more than 100 cinemas at the Kerala Box Office.
