Mohanlal's 1992 blockbuster, Yodha is touted as one of the path-breaking cinema ever made in Malayalam cinema history. The Sangeeth Sivan directorial starred Lalettan in the titular role of Thaiparambil Ashokan, a saviour destined to rescue the Rimpoche of a Nepalese Buddhist monastery from practitioners of black magic. Yodha also starred Madhoo, Siddharth Lamba, Jagathy Sreekumar, Urvashi and Bollywood actor-director Puneet Issar.
In a recent interview, Sangeeth Sivan revealed that he is planning to team up with the Malayalam superstar for the sequel of Yodha.
"A sequel to Yodha might happen. Directing a Mohanlal project in current scenario demands a lot of homework. There is no point in associating with Mohanlal for an ordinary film while considering the actor's current career track. Yodha 2 should be a never-seen-before experience. Yodha was a crazy idea of a team of youngsters, which fortunately fell into place. If I get an idea as crazy as its prequel, then you can expect Yodha 2 soon," Sangeet Sivan said.
Apart from Yodha, the Mohanlal - Sangeet Sivan duo had previously collaborated in many 1990 hit films including Gandharvam and Nirnayam.
