After stunning Airtel and Idea, Reliance Jio all set to outsmart Amazon and Flipkart

After taking over the highly crowded telecom sector by providing one year free data to its users, Reliance Industries owned by Mukesh Ambani had finally taken a step towards providing the cheapest feature phone to their users and if the reports doing rounds on the Internet are to believed, then soon the company is planning to provide the cheapest smartphone to their customers.

Now after stunning Airtel, Idea, and Vodafone with Reliance Jio's one year free data plan now the richest person of India Mukesh Ambani is all set to outsmart Amazon and Flipkart.

As per reports in Economic Times, it is possible that Ambani may not create a marketplace of his own rather they would hand out digital coupons by using their Jio wireless services. Reliance industries are also working different consumer brands, and kirana store. The company is planning to create a operational model with the help of which the consumers can buy whatever they want from neighbourhood shops by using digital coupons via its Jio Money platform or text messages.

The company's pilot project is about it going on in different stores of Mumbai, Chennai, and Ahmedabad and if the reports are to be believed then they can roll out big next year.

However the business model of Reliance Jio's e-commerce is not finished yet and the model will get many changes based on inputs from the pilot project, said a Jio executive while talking to ET.
