U.S. tech giant Apple has started selling the recently released RED colour variant of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT) RED edition in India. These smartphones launched on 9th April under a social scheme, Apple has a collaboration with (PRODUCT) RED organisation which fight against the HIV AIDS in eight African countries i.e. Ghana, Kenya Rwanda, Lesotho, Swaziland, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia. Under this program, Apple launches its product in RED colour to support the organisation to collect fund.
Now, the company has provided this product to its Indian customers, this variant of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus is made of matte red aluminium finishing and can be purchased from official Apple stores. This handset comes in two variant i.e. 64 GB internal storage and 256 GB internal storage.
Last year also the (PRODUCT) RED version of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus was also released in limited edition with 128 and 256 GB internal storage. And a part of the sell went to the (PRODUCT) RED organisation for the social cause.
If we talk about the price, iPhone RED 8 edition of 64 GB model is selling at the price of Rs 67, 940 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT) RED with 64 GB variant and another variant of 256 GB internal storage has been priced at Rs 91,110. Till now, Apple raised over $160 million (approx. 1,038 crores) by this unique program to support the (PRODUCT)RED and contribute a big part of the sale in the donation to power up the fight against HIV/AIDS in eight African countries.
