Amidst the controversy over the alliance partner in the UP, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has issued a warning to the Congress party saying that the latter might suffer in the Lok Sabha polls of 2019.
Expressing his sadness over the issue of his lone MLA not getting any cabinet post in the Madhya Pradesh, where the party is supporting the Congress, Akhilesh said that the grand old party might be at the helm of losing seats as forging an alliance and not allotting any ministry berth, can be harmful for the both the parties in future.
Akhilesh told the media, “Thanks to the Congress, they did not make our vidhayak (legislator) a minister," Akhilesh Yadav told reporters on Wednesday. By doing so, said the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister, the Congress had "cleared the path for Uttar Pradesh.”
In the recent division of the ministry in the newly appointed Kamal Nath’s chief minister-ship, the lone MLA of Samajwadi Party did not get any ministry and since then, the SP is miffed with the Congress. Although, BSP’s Mayawati has been silent over the issue and has taken a backset.

“As far as alliance is concerned, different leaders from different parties are making attempts. I am hopeful that some or the other alliance would take place,” said Yadav, adding, “Abhi kuch din pehle BJP ka dhanyawad diya ki unhone humein backward bana diya tha…. to humari line clear ho gayi…rasta saaf ho gaya (Recently, I thanked the BJP because they made us backwards… they cleared our line and our way).”
Spokesperson of the SP Rajendra Chaudhary “The Congress had promised to induct SP MLA as minister. Congress was not in majority there. After that, such behaviour is not appropriate.”
