Sai Praneeth beats Thailand's Suppanyu Avihingsanon in China Open, advances to second round

Indian Badminton player Sai Praneeth beat Thailand’s Suppanyu Avihingsanon 2-1 in the first round of the China Open to make his way to the second round.

In a closely fought battle that went on for 72 minutes, Sai Praneeth won the first game 21-19 in a neck to neck fight. Suppanyu Avihingsanon made a strong comeback in the second game and won it 23-21.

In the last and the final game, Sai Praneeth stood victorious and won the match 21-14. with this win, he advanced to the secoud round of the China Open.

Earlier, Saina Nehwal crashed out of the tournament after suffering a 21-10, 21-17 defeat to Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan in a first round game of the China Open.
